Niger: Time for assessment and promises in the face of reality

The analysis highlights the ongoing challenge of transforming popular support linked to nationalist sentiment into tangible results for local populations.

Fight against trafficking: major drug seizure in Zinder

The Defence and Security Forces (FDS) carried out a spectacular operation in Damagaram Takaya, in the Zinder region, intercepting a large quantity of narcotics. This operation is part of a strategy to strengthen territorial surveillance and dismantle cross-border criminal networks that fuel instability in the region. Local authorities have praised the vigilance of the units on the ground in this fight against illicit trafficking.

 

Tradition and Spirituality: prayer for peace in Agadez

Faced with security and social challenges, the Sultan of Aïr mobilised the community of Agadez for a collective prayer dedicated to peace and national cohesion. This event highlights the central role of traditional and religious leaders in social mediation and strengthening unity in Niger. Beyond the spiritual dimension, this appeal aims to ease tensions and foster a climate of solidarity among the different components of Nigerien society.
